Doron Mizrahi is a composer, guitarist, music producer, and researcher. He holds aMasters Degree in Composition from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music (Tel Aviv University) and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Music, Media, and Technology at Bar-Ilan University, under the supervision of Prof. Shai Cohen. His doctoral research examines the Interaction between auditory perception and visual representations in digital audio workstation (DAW) environments, and their influence on the compositional process.
In 2023, he released his debut album Before 40 (Sooth Sounds, Australia), a nine-movement work integrating orchestral writing (Budapest Scoring Orchestra) with a jazz quintet, produced internationally in collaboration with Grammy-winning artists. The album was awarded an art grant from the Mifal HaPayis Council for Culture and Arts, and was selected to represent Israeli music at both WOMEX and the Israel Music Showcase Festival. In 2025, the album's final movement, Impending 50, was awarded first prize in the national competition "The Future Is Already Here" and subsequently performed by the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra at Henry Crown Symphony Hall.
As a guitarist, Mizrahi has performed and recorded alongside many of Israel's foremost artists — among them Arik Einstein, Yoni Rechter, Yehudit Ravitz, Gidi Gov, Alon Oleartchik, David Broza and many more — in concert performances throughout Israel and abroad, as well as in theater, television, and film productions.
Between 2017 and 2021, he created and presented the web series Talkback, a documentary project chronicling the work of leading Israeli and international musicians. The series was acquired for permanent archival preservation by the Judaica Division of Harvard University Library.
Mizrahi teaches music theory, Ear training, and guitar, and currently serves as Head of Harmony and Ear Training at Rimon School of Music and the Levinsky-Wingate Academic Center. From 2023 to 2025, he held the position of Deputy Academic Director, (Rimon) where he led a wide-ranging pedagogical reform of the institution's academic programs.
